100% Thai silk hair strands come in all colors and are affordable, heat and coloring resistant, will last weeks to months and can be easily removed by the wearer. They are perfect for “shimmering” up your look, are a crowd favorite at cocktail hours, children’s parties, and other events, and are a wonderful way to treat yourself!

While all heads are different, fairy hair (unlike the popular but delicate and short-lived ‘hair tinsel’) typically lasts roughly 4-8 months on the average wearer. We cannot guarantee how long yours will last! Different lifestyle factors affect the durability of your fairy hair, and your treatment of it makes all the difference in the world.

We have dozens of different colors for every style. The silk hair typically lasts longer in adults than in children, longer in children than in beards and dogs (we’ve even put it on horses!), though every age, any gender, and every hair type can rock fairy hair… we encourage you to try it out today!

*Full head 20 spots (40 fairy hair strands): $65

Please note: a “half head” does have fairy hair all over your head (not just on half of it). “Half” and “Full” are simply words I use to keep note of how many we’re doing! Each knotted fairy hair spot gives two sparkly strands hanging down from it. The thicker your hair, the more we recommend, as with thicker hair the sparkles tend to mix right in and sometimes aren’t as visible as those with thinner hair!

5 Tips to Help Your

Fairy Hair Last Longer

So! You’ve got your new sparkly strands in but you’re concerned about average hair loss, or accidentally losing the new sparkles you love so much. While there can be no guarantees about how well your hair will take to fairy hair (though once you’ve had it the first time you’ll typically find out!), there are some tips and tricks you can use to help keep your fairy hair lasting longer.

  1. Only ever use a wide-toothed comb or a wet brush on your hair. Fairy hair (unlike some hair tinsel) is strongly tied to a single hair on your head and stays in until that hair is either pulled out or falls out on its own. Fine toothed combs and brushes have a far easier chance of snagging between the hair and the silk, and if it should catch that knot it will yank the hair and fairy hair with it right out of your head. Using wide-toothed combs and special wet brushes drop this chance significantly! When you can, use your fingers to detangle.

  2. Try to not yank on your hair unnecessarily. While we realize that over a several month period this can’t always be helped… day-to-day situations like removing a hair tie or clip, or pulling off a swim cap will require you to try not to be too rough on your scalp. When you can, use your hand to gently hold your hair at your scalp secure when removing hair accessories, to help lessen the chance of accidentally yanking the hair and fairy hair out of your head.

  3. If you suffer from weak or brittle hair, consider taking a supplement to help bolster your hair’s strength, and give your fairy hair more of a chance to stay put! We often recommend a biotin supplement (also known as vitamin B7), though other naturally occurring substances can help as well! Rosemary hair washes can help with growth and strength, as can taking selenium, zinc, and vitamin C. Please check with your doctor before starting any supplement.

  4. While Thai silk is extremely durable and is heat and coloring resistant, the more you process your hair with heavy heat or chemicals the more damage both your hair and the silk can experience. The silk should not show any more damage than your natural hair would, but in that vein we do recommend not over-processing your fairy hair (as we would recommend to anyone and their regular hair, sans fairy strands!).

  5. And finally, look in the mirror once each day (preferably when you wake up in the morning, but any time will do), gaze into your eyes and repeat this phrase:

“I am brave, I am beautiful. I look at myself and I see strength. My hair sparkles with my excitement for life.”

Technically it might not make your hair last longer, but it sure starts your day off right. <3
